Mid July - Student registration opens. This year, only current students will be eligible to register for the event. If you meet this criteria, please check out the Students page for more details.
Two weeks prior to the event start, resumes, pre-recorded research presentations, and pre-recorded elevator pitches will be distributed to recruiting sponsors.
Exhibition and Networking
The Exhibition will occur on the first day of the event, September 13th where students will register for either the morning session or afternoon session. The expo will begin with an ice-breaker/welcome from the organizers and event sponsors followed by 1-on-1 interaction with recruiting companies in the main exhibition hall. This is where in-person students will benefit from face-time with potential employers and sponsors will meet approximately 150 potential candidates.
Sponsors will have the opportunity to get access to the student registration demographics, resumes, abstracts, pre-recorded research presentations, and pre-recorded elevator pitches to evaluate potential candidates for interviews at the event and virtually. Interview rooms will be available both days of the event, while interview booths will be set up in the exhibition hall during day two. This will give sponsors the opportunity to screen and interview a large number of candidates in a short amount of time.
Virtual Career Seminars
In 2020, instead of providing technical content in the form of short courses, the event focused on introducing students to the variety of careers that recruit geoscience students. We will continue to provide these seminars during the second day of the event via Zoom. Like last year, the seminars will focus on the broad range of careers in the geosciences and provide students the opportunity to briefly network with professionals in those industries via the coffee hour and happy hour break-out rooms.
